Summer in Utah

So I've never stayed in Utah for a whole summer, it can be quite depressing when I really get thinking about it. I think Utah can be fun, but when I get right down to it...I'd take my less than fun job (that paid extremely well) in Alaska, in order to get to hang out with my mom, dad, brother, sisters, brother-in-law, niece, and nephews! But for some reason I am here this summer, and I better make the best of it, other wise I'm going to be one down-right depressing woman for the next several months. I found this blog off of my friend Megan's blog. She's very creative and has wonderful ideas! What I really like is her summer Live List. It's a great idea, but my problem is, I don't have kids, so most of this stuff I'll have to do on my own or in the few hours that Kody and I actually share together every day. But the point is, I NEED to do this, otherwise I'm going to go crazy. So I'm going to try to think of things to do in my first summer here, but if you have ANY ideas of other things I could do, all you more experienced Utahans, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free to comment and share. I need all the help I can get!

*go on a picture walk (don't know what else to call it, a walk where you take pictures?)
*hike the Y (I don't know how I graduated from BYU w/o ever doing this)
*send a care package to my brother on his mission
*go to a drive-in-movie
*plan an epic group date scavenger hunt
*go to at least 2 of the 5 national parks here in Utah
*go on a weekend trip with Kody somewhere
*go crowdad fishing (I really don't know what that is yet, but Kody likes it)
*start running again (or even just exercising in general haha)
*play at least 2 pick-up games (soccer that is)
*teach myself the piano (eeek!)
*go to a rodeo
*eat strawberries and cream during Strawberry Days
*read an Ensign talk once a week, blog about it, LET IT change my life (I just want to grow!)
*go to a dance with my husband :) (it's funny how once you get married you forget how much you BOTH actually love these things)
*run in a race (I miss being competitive!)
*have a BBQ with friends
*plan a REALLY cool surprise for Kody (no clue what that will be, but it'll be epic when it happens!)
*play racquetball/tennis/pickle ball with Kody (maybe not all, but at least one of those)
*go out of my way to stay friends with someone

Some of these are fun so that I don't drive myself crazy, some of these are areas in my life I want to change. For example, I got so used to being busy with student teaching, I got lax on the little things that truly help me in my life. Also, I stink at being friends with people. Especially girls! I don't know what it is, but I just have never been very good with girls--I was always so much better with boys. So I'm going to go out of my way to be friends/stay friends with people. I think I just always get lazy if I don't see my friends once a week than they're gone. So that's the plan.

Feel free to post any more ideas, especially if it will help me like Utah!

*Cheers!*
