Mental Health: I've started a new book called The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. He is one of my favorite authors. This is the book my book club has chosen for this month and I'm really excited to read it.
I'm also starting to get everything in order for when we move to Chicago next month. This week I am hoping to nail down the exact health insurance plan J and I will have. If I can I'll even start the application process, but my major goal is to just decide what I want to do.
Physical Health: I'm sticking with my same goal of going to the gym 5 times this week. Last week I planned out what I would do each day and I even stuck to that plan, but I don't want to do that this week. As long as I go I am meeting my goal. I'm all about the endorphins and nothing more!
This week's menu is looking like this:
- Baked potatoes (I never did the twice baked from last week)
- Beef Noodle Casserole
- CFA nuggets (again, never did these last week)
- Southwest Chopped Salad If you've never made this you HAVE TO! I love it so much and so does K because it has meat in it...he digs salads, but he digs salads more when they have meat!
- Pad Thai (I'm doing the straight from the box kind. I like to have a really easy dinner on Mondays because it is already a pretty crazy day. I use the Thai Kitchen brand)
Emotional Health: K and I noticed last night that we both want to do better with our relationship. For some reason when things get crazy at work or with J, the first thing we sacrifice is our relationship. It's the most important relationship in the family, but the first we let go to the wayside. So this week I want to do at least 2 out of the ordinary nice things for him.
Spiritual Health: I'm going to continue with my scripture journal, I'm for reals loving this thing! I really need to explain more in its own post. I also want to make sure I start my day off with prayer. I'm good about praying over meals and before bed, but I usually forget in the mornings. When I taught high school I had a 30 minute commute and so I got in the habit of praying on my way to work. Since I don't work anymore, I don't have that time by myself in the mornings, so that's my goal for this week!
I would love to hear your goals for this week. They don't have to fit into my categories and can be as small or big as you want!
My goal is to run in the morning and do one fun class in the afternoon at least three times this week. I am great about the running, but I realize that I need more strength training in my life so that those pesky pounds will melt away before Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteI read an article this week that talked about how putting your spouse first scientifically made everything else in your life improve, so that is my goal for this week. (aka I will let him hide candy bars all over the house and not make a big deal about not knowing exactly where they are... :))
Here is the article in case you are interested!

I saw that on Pinterest but didn't read it until now, saweeet!
DeleteI love that article so much! I have been nagging Dayne about everything lately and it's horrible but hard to stop! So I had some big A-ha moments today and that article was also a big help. Candy bars wouldn't hurt either :)
ReplyDeleteMy goals are to make one friendly effort every day and reconnect with people, read my scriptures every morning, and in general not be lazy!
I kind of feel like a creep when I read other people's blogs (That is, I did until I told Dayne what I was doing and he said he had already read it!) But I really love how you keep track of all of your goals and I like seeing what you guys are up to.
It's hard not to nag when you're pregnant haha...that's how I felt at least! Don't feel like a creep, either. I figure if people don't set their blogs to private than they want people to read and comment! I love your goal for making a friendly effort every day.
